I have never been to a massive war like Apoc, Armaggedon or Massacre, but I do watch some highlight videos. One thing I observed primarily at Apoc was the line up and open fire tactic. What is this the Civil War! To me I just don't see the practicallity of a firing line when people now have high ROF or even atomatic guns. A nerf war(to me) should be like a game of chess. Manoveuring to outflank, ambush and totally demolish the other team. Lining up and just firing away at a target seems kind of out-dated to me. If someone could just try to explain to why this is done. Thank you in advance. I know many of you have good sense.

Re: Line tactics
Hmm...Which movies are you referring to? (cough *linkplease*cough) lawlz.
To me, the only advantage to this tactic is that more than 3 people can take aim at a target, and then release a barrage of rounds. However, it gets better. If one person misses, then the other 2-5 people can hit them. It is an assurance tactic, mainly just for taking out one, hard-to-hit target. If the fact that all of the line is packed together scares you, then the line could be staggered so that not all of a line can be taken out from a RF 20 attack. Hope I've helped!

Re: Line tactics
Interesting...Very interesting...
I am not really an open-field setting person, as it offers minimal cover, but it does have it's advantages. I love having urban-setting wars, like around buildings, or in offices, but nerfing outdoors almost always takes the cake...

Re: Line tactics
I have thought about this for a bit. I figure there are two reasons for these tactics.
1. Darts are easier to dodge in the open while standing up.
2. Most long range guns ( they were being used in the vid ) require constant priming or reloading or both to fire. Thats similar to civil war era guns. Therefore, similar tactics were used in both cases. Advances in weapons change tactics. I guarantee if everybody had full auto longshots, tactics would be drasticly different.
